Hey, everyone, this is my first character phillip he was born with brachial plexus injury in which it involves the shoulder nerves. He lives with his mom and sister and his mom divorced the dad and his mom and sister have been struggling since the divorce. He is in elementary school and he is trying to find friends to fit in with. He loves soccer and enjoys watching it on tv and he always watches the middle schoolers play and wants to learn how.

  1. Allen, I’m so excited to read more! How old is your character? Is he in kindergarten or is he in 5th grade or somewhere in between? I can’t wait to hear more about your story!

What a cool character! I loved watching soccer when I was younger so I can relate. I hope to learn more about brachial plexus. Keep up the awesome work!

  3. Hi Allen! I am excited to read more about your character. I have never heard of brachial plexus injury and am wondering how he was injured. I am also wondering what your character’s name is. Is his sister older or younger? Does she like soccer as well? I cannot wait to read more!

  4. hey Allen, this is such an interesting character already! I think his background with his family makes him really relatable to some people and it adds connection to the conversation. Can’t wait for more!

  5. Hi Allen, I am a single mom of a daughter with autism. I also have a son with a learning disability. After their dad left when they were 3 and 5, we really struggled so i could relate to this part of the story. Life wasn’t always easy for them with their dad being so far away, but it was different and they learned some different things from the experience, like how to take an airplane by themselves without an adult. I like that you have a character who has a different life experience from the others. We are all different in so many different ways. I am enjoying reading your work. Also, I was really happy to see you at the Dance Marathon last Saturday. I told myself, I know that guy, I met him at the Coffee Talk and he has a blog. So when I got back to my office, I took the piece of paper you gave me with the URL of the blog and I checked it out. So glad I did!!! See you around!
